It was a GREAT TIME at our HALLOWEEN PARTY at

Special thanks to the Hardee's of Shelbyville, Kentucky, located at 1927 Midland Trail, for hosting a Halloween party on October 27th for the benefit of the Shelby County Humane Society. The cakewalk event brought in $43.06 for the SCHS, for which we are very thankful to all the participants and Hardees employees and our SCHS volunteers. To see photos of all the fun by Molly Carter, click HERE.

The Shelby County Humane Society would like to thank all the citizens of our area that gave to our intersection collection the weekend of October 20th and 21st at the corner of Hwy 60 and Hwy 55/53. Because of your generosity, we were able to collect $3,549.13. So for every person who threw in their change or emptied out their ashtray full of change or threw in a dollar, five, or fifty, THANK YOU for loving the animals of our area and helping us save, spay/neuter and find new homes for them.

All proceeds will go towards building a new animal sanctuary in Shelby County. There are so many people who contributed to this success that it is impossible to name them all. If you are one of those people, WE THANK YOU. We will have photos of the event here soon!

This is the beginning of a whole new life for Shelby County Humane Society. We believe that it will take at least $1 million dollars to break ground on our new facility. We are in the process of finding an architect with experience in creating such a facility. As soon as we have a picture of what we already have in our hearts to build, we will share it with all of you.

Please join us in keeping our current shelter running and moving forward in making the dream of our No-Kill Animal Sanctuary a reality.

With much affection,

Barbara V. Zekausky, Director
